This new team is central to our long-term strategic ambitions, and we’re looking for a visionary Finance Director to help shape its success.The Role:This is a rare opportunity to build and lead the Commercial Finance function for a newly created sub-business unit. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance for the business unit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and leading the transformation of finance processes. This role combines leadership, commercial insight, and the opportunity to influence a high-growth, high-visibility part of the organisation.If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for financial excellence and Enterprise, and if you thrive in a fast-paced evolving environment, we encourage you to apply and join our team in driving success across our Enterprise businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance Leadership & Team BuildingMentor and inspire finance talent to support both operational excellence and strategic thinking.Strategic Planning & ForecastingLead the development and delivery of the Enterprise BU’s strategic and operational financial planning.Design and manage robust planning and forecasting cycles that align with corporate objectives.Collaborate closely with business leaders to model scenarios, assess financial impacts, and ensure resource alignment with growth mercial & Strategic Business PartneringAct as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, influencing key decisions with data-driven insights.Drive rigorous commercial analysis on pricing, margin, and profitability across customer segments.Embed financial accountability and performance tracking into operational vestment ManagementEvaluate and manage business case development for strategic investments, including new product launches, market expansion, and technology initiatives.Oversee capital allocation processes and monitor return on investment (ROI) to ensure optimal deployment of financial resources.Provide post-investment reviews and recommendations to maximise long-term value.Planning, Forecasting & PerformanceOwn the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.Deliver clear, actionable reporting and insights that link financial outcomes to strategic goals.Finance Process TransformationDesign and implement scalable, efficient finance processes from the ground up.Leverage automation and digital tools to improve speed, accuracy, and decision-making.Governance & Risk ManagementEnsure financial control, compliance, and alignment with group standards and regulatory frameworks.What We’re Looking ForFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Proven senior finance leadership experience in a commercial, fast-paced environmentDemonstrated success in strategic planning, forecasting, and investment appraisalStrong track record of building and developing high-performing teamsSkilled at translating complex financial data into strategic business insightExperience leading finance process improvement and digital transformationBackground in enterprise technology, B2B services, or a similar sector is a plusCompensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by law in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC, the pay range for this position is as follows:The minimum full-time salary range is between $170,000 - $200,000.This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is available.Applications will be accepted through October 3, 2025.
