OverviewThis senior level position is responsible for performing geotechnical analysis and preparing geologic materials used for strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The objective of this role is to generate high-quality geological analyses and technical materials that can be presented to clients and counterparties as part of Citi’s strategic advisory services for energy clients.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for technical evaluation of oil and gas assets across Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors and will lead or support the geology function on assigned projectsRole will involve all relevant geologic tasks including, but not limited to: well log interpretation, regional basin-scale mapping, landing zone analysis, core analysis, generation of relevant subsurface maps and cross sectionsPerform asset technical evaluations, including analyzing and delivering data to identify key subsurface performance driversGenerate presentation materials for pre-marketing documents and data room presentations using private and/or public data for supportLead or assist with the coordination of execution mandates and external project meetings, as requiredPrepare virtual data rooms based on data supplied by clientsMarket assets to potential buyers by presenting analysis to large groups and following up on buyer’s questions and answersAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications8-12 years of relevant experience working for an oil and gas operator or in A&D bankingProficient in Microsoft Office, Geographix, Petra, Petrel, or Kingdom; Spotfire, ArcGIS, and other geospatial or analytical software is a plusSIE, Series 79 and 63 licenses to be obtained shortly after starting if not already licensedAbility to demonstrate discretion dealing with confidential mattersDemonstrated ability to assess technical risk in economic valuationsProven ability to perform various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environmentConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skillsProven influencing and relationship management skillsHighly motivated individual capable of working in fast-paced environmentInterest in learning about energy banking finance, economics and capital marketsEducationBachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferredIn addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
