OverviewStaffMED Health Partners is collaborating with a rapidly growing Neuroscience Institute in the Chicagoland area, focused on world-class neuroscience care through an innovative, personalized approach for patients in Chicagoland and beyond. The group is seeking an experienced APP with a strong, take-charge work ethic to support a high-acuity cranial neurosurgery service. This is a full-time opportunity to join a busy, growing, independent physician-run group consisting of neurosurgeons, ENTs, neuro-oncologists, and neurologists establishing a state-of-the-art neuroscience program.ResponsibilitiesRoutine diagnostic, therapeutic and invasive surgical procedures (where clinically relevant).Prepare and record patient history and physical examinations. Assist with pre-admission testing for assigned surgical service patients and explain procedures to patients.Develop inpatient and outpatient care. Participate in post-procedure follow-up and write orders for appropriate medical care.Act as first or second assistant in the operating room.Serve as expert clinician and patient advocate within the specialty. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP – Physician Assistant/PA or Nurse Practitioner/NP) will direct medical care and serve as a specialty area expert and consultant to staff, patients, families, and the operational team in clinical specialties including cranial neurosurgery, spinal neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, head and neck/otolaryngology surgery, neuro-oncology, and neurocritical care. Functions as an APP within the specialty area, as well as educator, consultant and researcher for patients, families and staff.The 509-bed campus is a comprehensive stroke center and represents one of the largest facilities in the northern suburbs of Chicago and the largest campus within the Health System. The newly opened Spine and Pain Center on its Arlington Heights campus is part of a plan with the Neurological Institute to transform from a community hospital to a one-of-a-kind global Neurosciences destination.
