POSITION TITLE: Intermediate Assistant to the Principal/Treasurer WAGE: $16.83-$17.33 per hour HOURS: 7:45 am-4:15 pm (40 hours) This is a 12-month position. BENEFITS: Health, Dental, Vision, Life insurance PERF Retirement Paid Holidays & PTO PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Intermediate School Treasurer/Assistant to the Principal serves as the primary bookkeeper and financial manager of school funds, overseeing the collection, disbursement, and accurate accounting of all monies. In addition, this position provides comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the principal ensuring smooth daily operations of the school office and fostering positive communication with staff, students, parents, and community members. MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES: Financial ManagementCollect, count, deposit, and disburse all school-related monies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with district guidelines. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including both electronic and hard copy files. Compile and submit financial reports as required by the school and Central Office. Provide monthly budget and account summaries to the principal. Oversee internal accounting records for the principal and assistant principal. Receive, stock, and distribute bid items and supplies. Administrative & Clerical Support Prepare, type, and distribute correspondence, reports, and publications, including but not limited to newsletters, handbooks, schedules, award letters, banquets, and event programs. Assist in compiling and maintaining teacher and student handbooks. Maintain updated staff contact information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.). Organize and prepare interview materials for hiring processes. Assist with coordination of school-wide programs, special events, and recognition activities (e.g., incentive field trips, award programs, athletic banquets). Assist with student activity funds, field trips, and extracurricular event logistics. Support to the Principal Provide direct administrative support to the principal, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and preparing necessary documents. Assist with communication to staff and families on behalf of school administration. Support the principal and assistant principal in monitoring deadlines, reports, and other compliance requirements. Perform clerical and organizational tasks to ensure effective office management and smooth daily operations of the school. Carry out additional duties and projects as assigned by the principal or assistant principal. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: EducationHigh School Diploma required At least two years of Office Professional experience required Associates Degree or higher degree preferred but not required Skills and abilitiesAbility and experience to maintain financial records. Ability and willingness to interact with the public in a positive manner. Ability to cooperate and work with parents, students. and staff. Ability to follow directives, school policies, and assigned duties in a timely manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to effectively organize office functions. Ability to maintain office files. Ability to effectively operate data management software, basic spreadsheet operations, and word processing.
