Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities: - Process bi-weekly payroll for all town employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations. - Maintain employee payroll records including wages, deductions, and benefits. - Review and reconcile timesheets, overtime, and leave balances. - Prepare and submit payroll-related reports for management and state/federal agencies. - Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies. - Assist with year-end processing including W-2 preparation. Requirements Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree preferred). - 2-4 years of payroll experience, preferably in a municipal or government setting. - Knowledge of wage, hour, and tax regulations. - Proficiency with payroll software and intermediate Excel skills. - Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and customer service focus.
