JRN: 2238 We are seeking an experienced and hands on House Manager to oversee the daily operations, staffing, and full management of a multi-level private residence on the Upper East Side. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, leadership, and a service-first mindset to ensure the home is maintained to the highest standards. The position is based at the family’s primary residence, with occasional support required at additional properties.Responsibilities: Supervise household deliveries: staging, packing/unpacking, and tracking. Oversee, train, and manage the housekeeping team (Lead Housekeeper + 4–5 staff members). Maintain stock levels of household supplies, pantry items, and everyday provisions. Manage detailed inventories (wardrobe, wine, and household items). Coordinate all maintenance projects and ongoing property upkeep. Lead event preparations, guest arrivals, and formal service planning. Work with facilities manager and a 24/7 on-site security team to provide on-call support for household needs including systems (HVAC, lighting, IT, etc.). Collaborate daily with Facilities Manager, Chef, and Personal Assistant. Facilities include a pool, sauna, movie theater, rooftop terrace and grill Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding housekeeping staff. Schedule and monitor staff shifts, rotations, and attendance. Maintain and manage separate calendars for the house, staff, and management. Work alongside the Lead Housekeeper to manage wardrobe care, packing/unpacking, seasonal transitions, and preservation of specialty garments. Oversee all laundry operations and manage relationships with external dry cleaners. Ensure residence is meticulously clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times. Supervise care and maintenance of household items and specialty equipment (e.g. silverware, fine China, crystal). Conduct daily walkthroughs to assess cleanliness and inspect for structural issues or damage. Oversee formal service, including place settings and event-specific arrangements. Support the Chef with kitchen logistics and organization as needed. Plan and coordinate holiday celebrations, private events, floral designs, and formal service standards. Work in coordination with an external art team to ensure proper care of fine art and antiques. Liaise with principals' representatives and family office on property updates, construction, billing, and staffing. Manage vendor relationships, including a 24/7 security team and pet care providers. Oversee access control and supervision of all service vendors.Requirements: Must be based in or near NYC. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in managing luxury private home. Proven track record of managing and training domestic staff. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, and holidays as needed. Technologically proficient; comfortable using household and scheduling systems. Demonstrated longevity in past roles with strong, verifiable references. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly professional, discreet, and service-oriented. Experience caring for museum-quality art and high-value furnishings. Knowledge of formal dining protocols; wine knowledge is a plus. Proactive, organized, and self-motivated. Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; valid driver’s license with a clean record. Must pass a comprehensive background check and be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.Location:Upper East Side, pensation & benefits:$150,000+ DOE, full benefits, 401k, PTO.
