DC Power Telecom Technician Level I/II - Minnesota

JOB SUMMARYA Level I/II Lead Installer is responsible for quality installation of equipment in the central office and outside plant environments as specified in engineering instructions and drawings and in accordance with customer standards. This is a field ­based position, requiring up to 100% stall, test, and turn up equipment in the Central Office and Outside Plant EnvironmentsPerform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuitsAdd and/or remove circuits on working power distribution equipmentInstallation of auxiliary framing and relay racksOn­site analysis of job drawings and specifications to resolve any issues prior to job startPreparation of SMOPs and DMOPs for the projectFunction as the point ­of­ contact for support groups such as engineering, material assignment, etc.Review the work assignments and project steps (reference the SMOP/DMOP) before each work shift so that all personnel, including contractors, are aware of their roles and responsibilities during the scheduled work tourCompleting the job log as per company standards, including the personnel and hours worked by each work items completed or in progress and notable site or project issuesAdd and/or upgrade software as neededOversee the work assignment, time management, and training and development of all personnel assigned to the jobMaintain a professional orientation, ensuring quality and outstanding customer serviceHigh school diploma, technical degree preferredSpecial electronics training or work experienceDemonstrated knowledge of a variety of customer standards including but not limited to Telcordia StandardsStrong verbal and written customer facing skillsStrong computer skills to include MS Office experienceExperience with complying with all customer standards and paperwork including testing and closeout paperworkProficient in the use of electronic test equipmentStandard Training RequirementsNetwork ReliabilityField SafetyLevel 4 Training (as applicable)Hilti Fire StoppingGlobal Safety Training (as applicable)Electrical SafetyPersonal Protective EquipmentNO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE PROVIDED
