Cost Accountant II

Nikon, a pioneering leader in the photography and imaging industry, is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant II to join our Finance team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting Nikon's financial strategy across various sectors, including scientific research, healthcare, and industry. This role is pivotal in enhancing our cost-effectiveness and profitability, ensuring our continued innovation and excellence in optical technologies. Preparing and analyzing cost records and reports to identify variances and their root causes. Reviewing standard and actual costs for inaccuracies, updating as necessary to reflect actual production costs. Assisting in month-end close of the general ledger specifically relating to inventory and cost of goods sold. Conducting inventory audits and investigating cycle counting variances and resolve issues. Developing and maintaining internal cost accounting procedures and safeguards. Working closely with manufacturing and procurement to manage material costs and contribute to cost-saving solutions. Assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting aligned with company goals. Supporting company initiatives by providing accurate cost analysis and project feasibility studies as needed. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficient in cost accounting software and Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) related to industrial production.
