Interns will be immersed in the daily operations of a clinical lab, gaining exposure to specimen processing, instrumentation, and workflow management. You'll work alongside experienced Technologists and Supervisors who are passionate about mentoring and developing future lab professionals. You will primarily support Microbiology. Internship Assignment Summary:Receive and sort clinical lab specimensPrepare specimens for testing and analysisScan and/or data entry of specimen and patient informationEnsure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenanceTroubleshoot any specimen related issuesReplenish test bench supplies as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentComplete record logs and other administrative duties as requestedFollow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standardsDevelop, complete, and present a Process Improvement ProjectEducation/Qualifications/Skills:Be working toward a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor's degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsDemonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracyThrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentShow initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervisionHave a genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Laboratory TechnologistBe able to lift and rotate up to 30 pounds regularlyLabcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer: Labcorp strives for inclusion and belonging in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
