OverviewThe Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of production operations. This role ensures that manufacturing personnel adhere to safety regulations and that production schedules align with quality and productivity goals. The manager supervises shop personnel, oversees material orders and inventory control, and drives operational efficiency across the manufacturing floor.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the production workflow to meet company demand and delivery timelinesCollaborate with the Purchasing to manage inventory of raw materials, purchased merchandise, and hardware according to forecast and production needsWork closely with Production Supervisors to develop and maintain the production schedule; act as the primary point of contact for scheduling issuesEnsure inventory levels of made-to-stock (MTS) and purchased items are aligned with production plansUtilize ERP systems to optimize materials, labor, and machine usage; collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate costing and resource trackingLead and motivate the production team to meet and exceed production targetsAnalyze production data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measuresInspect finished products regularly to ensure adherence to quality standardsMaintain compliance with all safety regulations and internal policiesOversee preventive maintenance for all equipment and toolingSkills and QualificationsBachelors degree in a related field preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing and production managementStrong background in production management, ideally in timber or fence manufacturingDemonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Inventory Control systems (preferred)Proficient with ERP and MRP systemsExcellent organizational, analytical, and time management skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectivelyStrong communication skills with the ability to delegate and lead teams efficiently
