OverviewJoin to apply for the Regional Operations & HR Manager role at KIPP Baltimore.KIPP Baltimore operates two public charter schools on a shared campus in West Baltimore: KIPP Harmony Academy (K-5) and KIPP Ujima Village Academy (6-8). Founded in 2002, the organization provides student programming and alumni support that prepares students to pursue pathways to careers of highest aspiration. KIPP Baltimore is part of the national KIPP Public Schools network, which includes 280 schools, 15,000 educators, and 175,000 students and alumni.Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources/PayrollEnter, manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information and database with fidelity.Review employee time punch edits to ensure accuracy and consistency.Run bi-weekly payroll for KIPP Baltimore operator employees. Accurately execute payroll processes for Baltimore City Public School employees consistent with BCPSS policies and procedures.Provide assistance with troubleshooting and resolving employee pay discrepancies.Manage benefits for all KIPP Baltimore operator employees. Serve as point of contact with benefits providers, lead education opportunities on benefits offerings, manage annual open enrollment process, troubleshoot benefits related questions for staff.Coordinate the onboarding process for all KIPP Baltimore employees as part of our Regional Operations Team.Generate in-house referrals through original and innovative referral programs.Manage other day-to-day HR operations (onboarding, employee relations, compliance, outplacement counseling, exit interviews, etc.).Provide advice and guidance to senior leaders on employee issues.Serve as the primary liaison with Baltimore City Schools for HR matters, including:Address human capital questions from KIPP Baltimore leadership and staff regarding benefits and compensation.Keep abreast of changes in City Schools policies, procedures, and negotiated agreements.Provide advice and training to KIPP Baltimore leadership on full employment life cycle.FinanceAccounts ReceivableResponsible for full cycle Accounts Receivable function including managing A/R inbox, deposits, cash collections, posting of cash and sending invoices and statements.Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.Accounts PayableManage the A/P system to ensure timely approvals, GL coding accuracy, and timely payment of invoices.Mail and distribute signed checks including assembling check payment advice to invoices.Assist with reconciling vendor statements and with the credit card and employee expense processes to meet month-end close.Maintain financial records in accordance with document retention suranceManage all regional and school-based insurance needs; ensure appropriate levels of liability and additional coverages.Liaise with the insurance company and maintain files for claims; request and maintain Certificates of Insurance as needed.Administrative SupportSupports the Executive Director, Chief Academic Officer and Chief of Staff by managing calendars, coordinating travel, and scheduling internal and external meetings.Supports compliance with federal and state grants and with Baltimore City Public Schools charter operator requirements, including planning, data tracking for grant reporting, and evaluation.Coordinates organization-wide events and manages office operations.Serves as a backup to the Director of Campus Operations for facilities and technology support/management.Performs other duties as assigned.Full-time EngagementServe as a full-time and engaged member of KIPP Baltimore staff.Proactively identify opportunities for efficiency and propose solutions.Manage large projects with cross-team coordination and delegation.Prepare reports, presentations, and documents for SST and leadership teams.Coordinate staff meals, room setup, and other needs during professional development days, retreats, meetings and trainings.QualificationsA passion for the mission of KIPP Baltimore.A Bachelor's degree is required.Knowledge of and experience with an HRIS is preferred.Experience running payroll is preferred.At least five years of office and/or operations experience; school operations experience preferred.Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multi-component projects.Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with multiple deadlines.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and motivate others.Drive to improve the efficiency of organizational systems and a sense of ownership and accountability.Willingness to work independently as well as with a team and discretion with confidential information.Character traits: zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude and a sense of humor.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $69,358 - $80,871 (based on experience and qualifications)Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision insurance options; employer-paid life insurance and disability coverage; access to mental health resources.Time Off & Leave: Paid Time Off (PTO), paid school breaks, and parental leave.Retirement & Financial Benefits: 401(k) with a 4% employer match.Additional Perks: Bonusly recognition program and discounts through benefits providers; strong, mission-driven culture.For more information about this position, please contact Hilarie Yoffe, Recruitment Manager, at or 410-564-9241.Statement of Non-Discrimination: KIPP Baltimore is committed to the ideal of diversity in its student body and in its faculty and staff.
