This role assists in drafting legal documents, handles case management, conducts legal research and analyzes legal issues. The Private Client Paralegal is responsible for ensuring efficient end to end case management. This role works under general supervision and relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesDraft probate court petitions, judicial council forms, other related documents, and correspondence, including but not limited to applications, motions, pleadings, notices of hearing, discovery requests, deposition notices and proofs of serviceFile documents with government agencies and courts, including applications/motions, petitions and other related mattersAid with court proceedings, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, trial binders, etc. and setting up courtroom logisticsPerform legal research and summarize findings for attorney review with respect to pleadings, service, and requirements of California probate estates, trusts, and conservatorship/guardianship proceedingsUpdate and maintain calendars and departmental docket with court filing deadlinesWork with applicable attorney services to orchestrate and complete court filingsAssist with trust and estate administrationsPrepare communications to clients, third-party advisors, opposing counsel, and vendors.Coordinate and orchestrate requests for duplicating, word processing, messenger delivery and special mailingsJob SpecificationsBachelor’s degreeParalegal CertificateAt least five (5) years of related work experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)Knowledge of California probate court laws, procedures and practicesKnowledge of docketing/calendaring software and proceduresStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilitiesAbility to work flexible and/or fluctuating hoursAbility to handle and maintain confidential informationStrong sense of teamwork and support; ability to build client trustSuccessful candidates will be provided with outstanding career opportunities and will receive a competitive total rewards package with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses.Target Hiring Range $66,000 - $160,000Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
