OverviewNorthrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – Cyber Security Tester (25-476) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role, located in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, is essential in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.Note: This position does not include relocation support and requires working on-site with no remote options.PositionWe are seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team. This role requires a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in Cybersecurity engineering and testing methodologies, capable of solving complex problems in a fast-paced DoD operational computing environment. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments and demonstrates innovation, leadership, and adaptability.To join our team and contribute to our mission-critical projects, you must be ready to bring your technical expertise, ingenuity, and ability to deliver solutions in complex DoD environments.Essential FunctionsDesigning, developing, testing, certifying, and delivering secure systems as part of an integrated Cybersecurity teamPerforming unit-level, art-level, and solution-level release testingManaging testing activities at the Cyber Test Facility (CTF)Utilizing knowledge of cybersecurity tools, patch management solutions, and security auditing tools to develop secure system designsProviding input and interpretation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, including success criteriaWriting concise test steps, generating other technical documentation, and maintaining adherence to Common Criteria, NIST, and NIAP methodologiesCollaborating with systems engineers, software developers, and network engineersLeveraging change and configuration management systems to coordinate updates and maintain version controlThorough understanding of RMF and the ability to interpret requirementsFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and automated testing frameworksExperience implementing best practices in Common Criteria, NIST, and NIAP methodologiesCompetency in writing test cases and creating relevant technical documentationAbility to solve complex and unique problems requiring ingenuity and creativityAbility to function effectively with minimal supervision and deliver results aligned with organizational objectivesExperience serving in project leadership roles, representing the organization as primary customer contact on significant technical mattersStrong communication skills to engage with interdisciplinary teamsSalary ranges: Huntsville $144,200 - $216,400; Colorado Springs $137,400 - $206,000Basic QualificationsPlease list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related field with 4 years of relevant work experienceApplicants must have a current, active DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to startApplicants must hold a current active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.), which is required to startIdeal technical experience in toolsTest background, along with familiarity with two or more of the following tools:- ACAS, HBSS, ArcSight (SIEM), Endgame, CyberArk, ICAP, Multi-Factor Authentication, UserLock, BitLocker, WSUS, Satellite, BigFixOperating Systems experience with: RHEL (Linux), Windows 10, Windows ServersRBAC Patching experience, including handling Active Directory, GPOs, and BigFixPreferred Qualifications:Agile experience is highly desirableAgile roles such as Scrum Master, Product Owner (PO), or AgilestKnowledge of STIGsExposure to test automation frameworksFamiliarity with scanning and network assessment tools such as Ansible and vulnerability scanning solutionsWhat We Can Offer YouNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages growth, supporting both employees and the company’s success.
