Overview Director of Financial Advocate Team at Medicaid Done Right LLC, located in Clearwater, FL, United States. This position is open to candidates with a Bachelor Degree. Job Responsibility At MDR Hospital Division, our employees support customers through challenging healthcare decisions by guiding them through eligibility and payment processes. We help patients and families identify insurance eligibility and navigate financial responsibilities, offering ways to achieve financial well-being through payment arrangements. The Director of Patient Financial Advocate Team will manage an on-site staff of Financial Patient Advocates responsible for screening patients for eligibility assistance programs and providing updates to client contacts on progress. The salary is $50k. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review the hospital census or use established referral methods to identify patients consistently throughout the day. Screen patients referred to MDR for State, County, and/or Federal eligibility assistance programs. Initiate the application process bedside when possible. Identify specific patient needs and assist with enrollment applications to the appropriate agency for assistance. Verify insurance and obtain payor authorizations. Introduce patients to MDR services and inform them of regular progress contacts. Provide transition for the Patient Advocate to develop a positive relationship with the patient. Record all patient information on the designated in-house screening platform and document results. Review system for available information for each outpatient account and screen patients face-to-face on site as able. Attempt to reach patients by telephone if unable to screen face-to-face. Perform outside field work as required, including patient home visits to screen for eligibility of State, County, and Federal programs. Other duties as assigned or required by client contract. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a positive working relationship with hospital staff at all levels and departments. Access information for the Patient Advocate as needed (discharge dates, balances, statements, medical records, etc.). Keep an accurate log of accounts referred each day. Meet specified goals and objectives as assigned by management on a regular basis. Maintain confidentiality of account information at all times. Maintain a neat and orderly workstation. Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct. Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1 - 3 years' experience in medical coding, medical billing, eligibility (hospital or government) or other related medical experience preferred. 3-5 years of management experience in a hospital setting. Previous hospital customer service mandatory. Experience navigating EHR systems. Must have basic computer skills and be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.
