This position can be based in San Francisco, Los Angeles or Seattle.ResponsibilitiesLead design of site development, utilities, roadway, drainage and other key elements of civil engineering projectsOversee the production of design documents and leading a team of civil engineers working on a variety of projectsWork with the local agencies to understand their land use and permit processesCoordinate with associated disciplines including SMEP, architecture and landscape architecture, geotechnical engineering, transportation planning, urban planning, environmental engineering, and cost engineeringPerform construction phase engineering support and site supervisionParticipate in proposal writing and marketing activitiesDevelop relationships with existing clients and project collaboratorsPresent technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiencesMentor staff and providing training to junior technical staffQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.California PE license preferred8+ years of experience in civil engineering/site developmentKnowledge of core civil engineering fundamentals such as hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, low impact development, utility design, grading and earthwork, roadway and geometric alignments, and accessibility standards.Working knowledge of civil engineering design and analysis software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D.Experience working with local authorities and navigating their permit processesExperience managing project delivery and interfacing with contractors, project owners, and outside consultantsExperience with hydrology and hydraulic design is desirableA commitment to sustainable design practicesStrong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build consensus among clients and teammates alikeNotable current projectsCalifornia High Speed Rail StationsLAX Roadways, Utilities, and Enabling WorksUCSF New Hospital at Parnassus HeightsCP2 Bart to Silicon ValleyPresidio Trust Long Range Utility Implementation StrategyHiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $135,000 to $160,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
