SummaryThe Regional Vice President is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, coordinating and evaluating general freight forwarding activities.Job DutiesFormsulates, communicates and administers long range goals and objectivesReviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine region progress toward stated goals and objectivesAccepts responsible for the profitability of the assigned account(s) through accurate and timely preparation of financial budgets and forecastsConfers with various personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditionsManages customer account relationships to deliver overall customer satisfactionAssists the business development group in securing business with new customers or additional business with existing customersManages operations management personnel by interviewing, hiring, training, directing, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problemsProvides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of regionCarries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization/'s policies and applicable lawsOther duties as required and assignedRequirementsBachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or universityMinimum 8 to 11 years related experience and/or trainingExperience with general freight forwardingMust be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointAbility to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general publicAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometryAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formEnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
