Competitive Compensation: Up to $225K base salary (DOE) + Quarterly & Annual Bonuses (Up to $50K Potential) 401(k) with Generous Match Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance Generous PTO & Paid Holidays Collaborative Work Environment: Join a team of 120 attorneys across multiple offices, fostering a supportive and collegial culture Work-Life Balance: Average annual billable hours of 1,800 Hybrid-Remote: 3 days in the office Job Details Provide legal counsel and support to K-12 schools, colleges, universities, federal entities, and corporate businesses on a variety of litigation matters. Handle defense litigation, including all phases from initiation through resolution, such as drafting and arguing motions, and taking/defending depositions. Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations. Advise and guide clients through legal challenges involving public contracting, disputes, and other public entity-related matters. Conduct legal research, and draft legal memoranda, opinions, and briefs. Collaborate with school administrators, board members, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide strategic legal advice on risk management and dispute resolution strategies. Looking For: J.D. and licensed to practice law in CA. Minimum of 4 years of civil litigation experience, ideally encompassing the full spectrum of defense litigation, including the ability to manage cases independently. Experience in insurance defense, education law and public entity defense is preferred, though not required. Strong litigation experience, including taking depositions, drafting motions, and preparing for trials.
