OverviewJoin to apply for the Information Security Portfolio Manager role at University of Colorado Boulder.The Office of Information Technology (OIT) invites applications for an Information Security Portfolio Manager. This role will develop and manage tactical and operational plans aligned with the department’s strategic goals, facilitate the progression of projects and initiatives within the Security & Identity portfolio, balance resources across projects, and report on the health and maturity of the campus information security program. Responsibilities focus on progress toward initiative alignment to risks and on implementing, measuring, and improving IT security policies and principles for enhanced organizational effectiveness and service delivery.CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with applicable laws governing nondiscrimination. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Management: coordinate programs and projects in alignment with departmental, OIT, and campus goals.Develop and maintain technical project schedules and status reports.Lead project planning efforts, define tasks, estimate durations, and track completion dates.Coordinate and support project team members to maintain timelines and objectives.Track and follow through on action items related to central initiatives and projects.Support service planning documentation and tracking mechanisms for service delivery assessment and alignment projection.Establish methods for recurring and ad-hoc reporting on program success and drive progress toward metrics.Advise departmental leadership on day-to-day operational and strategic issues.Provide regular briefings on the portfolio and coordinate actions to maintain momentum and achieve munication & Change Management; Stakeholder Management: serve as the departmental lead for external communications and collaborations that support strategic priorities.Collaborate with OIT’s Organizational Effectiveness team to promote program objectives and risks; prepare and edit reports, communications, and municate program direction, priorities, events, and status to program resources and sponsors.Provide timely updates to campus partners on security-related communications.Contribute to security awareness content and organizational change efforts; engage with departments and partners.Foster proactive customer service and maintain positive relationships with key partners and customers.What You Should KnowVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.Full-time with hybrid options; infrequent in-person presence on the CU Boulder campus.Due to access to export-controlled data, only U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other protected individuals may apply.What We Can OfferThe salary range is $90,400 to $101,720 annually.BenefitsCU Boulder offers medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit and ECO Pass. Be Boulder.What We RequireBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.3+ years of relevant experience in IT, program/project management, or related roles.What You Will NeedKnowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, operational planning, process improvement, and service management standards.Skills in administrative planning, collaborating with partners, needs analysis, project management, organizational change, conflict resolution, and negotiation.Ability to manage scope, time, and resources using standard tools; lead project execution and communications; develop risk, compliance, and assurance measurement strategies; prepare risk management reports; capture customer satisfaction and service performance feedback; and influence outcomes through effective communication and relationship building.What We Would Like You To HaveExperience with portfolio management.Familiarity with IT software development lifecycles (e.g., Agile); experience with information security in an organization.Experience in higher education; PROSCI certification.Special InstructionsTo Apply, Please Submit: a current resume and a cover letter describing how your background aligns with the requirements, qualifications, and responsibilities.
