Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) Operations ensure that all accounts are invested in their selected model in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. We support equity and fixed income portfolio management and sales teams by performing critical daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to ensure account data is accurate and accounts are invested properly. A member of this team will perform these duties, field inquiries from internal and external clients, and work on high level tasks, projects and issues as needed. The best candidate for this position should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and be able to perform in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and experience in the securities industry is a plus but is not required.**What You’ll Do:**The SMA Associate will be responsible for providing service and support to the SMA fixed income and equity portfolio management and sales teams. The Analyst will be responsible for a wide variety of evolving tasks related to but not limited to this support. Key applications used are MS Excel, MS Access, as well as a variety of web-based sponsor trading and trade support applications that we will be happy to train the right candidate on. It is the responsibility of this team to ensure that client accounts are always invested into their selected model. On a regular basis, the model will undergo changes that must be implemented by this team in a timely manner. This involves the updating of our distribution platforms with updated files that will result in new trades being made to the client’s account, thus keeping them in line with their chosen model. The ideal candidate will help to create these files in either Excel or Access, review block trade orders to implement model account changes, and analyze trades for any potential errors or problems prior to executing any changes. Additional responsibilities may include the processing of trade files and trade allocations, reviewing web portals, work queues and inboxes to ensure outstanding work has been completed, and reviewing for Quality work processed by the team.**What We’re Looking For:**The ideal candidate should have a Business or Finance degree, and financial experience is always a plus, but not required. While the degree is preferred, it is not required for the right candidate bringing relevant work experience to our firm and the skills required for the position. The candidate should have very strong communication and organizational skills. They must also be very detail oriented and demonstrate proficiency in manipulating and generating Excel spreadsheets and using Access databases to generate data. Time management would be an important skill to possess as priorities within our team change throughout the day and the ideal candidate should be able to shift focus seamlessly.
