Overview Facilities Engineer – Level 3 or Level 4 at Northrop Grumman. This role is based in McLean, VA, and can be filled at Level 3 or Level 4. The position supports sustaining infrastructure and program facilitation requirements across space programs and facilities. Base pay and relocation Base pay range: $100,300.00/yr - $187,300.00/yr Relocation assistance: No relocation assistance available Clearance and travel Clearance type: Top Secret Travel: Yes, 10% of the time In this job you will Lead the execution and management of facilities projects that support sustaining infrastructure and program facilitation requirements. Gather, review, and finalize facility requirements data, equipment specifications, restrictions, schedules, and construction feasibility. Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of buildings, structures, equipment, and other facilities. Coordinate with Architectural and Engineering firms to develop design criteria and prepare/review detailed drawings. Prepare Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services. Review cost estimates for design, equipment, installation, labor, materials, construction, and related costs. Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance with requirements, plans, specifications, and schedules. Manage and execute multiple facilities projects simultaneously. Forecast and report on project status, including risk, cost, and schedule metrics. Develop and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans as required. Manage all phases of projects from concept, requirements, SOWs, planning, design, execution, to turnover (including maintenance contracts). Utilize management tools such as Procore, SAP, MS Project, and other Microsoft Office applications. Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities. Experience with building mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, RTUs, compressed air) and electrical distribution. Ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors supporting facility infrastructure operations. Experience with building maintenance management and tracking systems (work orders, CAFM, PM scheduling). Experience with design and construction of classified facilities and knowledge of building and fire code requirements. Basic Qualifications Level 3 Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in facilities engineering, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4+ years of facilities engineering experience may be substituted for a degree. Level 4 Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in facilities engineering, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4+ years of facilities engineering experience may be substituted for a degree. Additional qualifications (for both Levels) Advanced proficiency with design contracts and design reviews. Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications. Microsoft Project, Procore or other scheduling software; Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred qualifications Current active DoD TS/SCI security clearance. Experience with design/construction of classified facilities. Experience with Building Automation Systems and IT network requirements. Experience with AutoCAD. Salary notes Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00 The above ranges are guidelines; final offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
