This role supports the Power Delivery & Renewable team in North America and interfaces with the Substation Electrical Team on technical and project management assignments.This is a senior Lead Technical position within the Power Delivery & Renewable unit. The candidate will directly interface with Arcadis power delivery team, especially with the Substation Electrical Team, with technical and project management assignments, project engineering, proposal management, and business development. The role ensures day-to-day client engagement, project and proposal coordination, project execution, resource planning, and hands-on technical solutions. The incumbent will work to ensure project execution aligns with applicable codes and Arcadis policies (Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control). The role collaborates with other Power Delivery departments and with other Arcadis business divisions and sectors.The position involves coordinating the Power Delivery & Renewables (PD&R) team and performing hands-on substation electrical engineering, detail design, and studies for utility and developer clients in North America. The incumbent will also collaborate with the renewable energy team (e.g., wind, solar, green H2) within Arcadis. As part of the PD&R team, you will help improve quality of life.ResponsibilitiesManage and grow Substation Electrical team working with the Power Delivery & Renewables Leader and Manager of Substation Electrical group. Ensure resource planning and utilization of protection and control on large/complex projects and perform quality reviews.Support, develop, and deliver utility, developer, and client projects from development conceptual layout through detailed design and construction support.Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, system planning and studies, SCADA/telecommunications, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue For Construction design packages. Review, perform, and QA all engineering studies necessary to complete the detailed engineering package.Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead to support services and grow power delivery client opportunities in the region.Mentor junior team members. Conduct QA/QC on work of other engineers, designers, or technicians. Participate in client, contractor, and vendor meetings to support business development and project execution.Work with the PD&R Leader to develop plans for client development, account growth, department growth, resource planning, winning and execution strategy, quality control improvement, and overall project financial performance to meet PD&R goals.Travel up to 20% to client sites and meetings within North America and potentially internationally.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 12 years of relevant experience in substation layout, bus configurations, cable and conduit design, grounding, control building, lighting and lightning, and all aspects of HV and EHV substation engineering, studies, and standards for AIS and GIS substations in utility-scale, developer, and/or large industrial facilitiesExperience within Power Delivery Substation Electrical consultancy businesses and understanding of power delivery, generation, and renewablesPE LicenseProficiency in critical engineering software (e.g., SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, CDEGS, WinIGS) and design experience adhering to NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, and local codesPreferred QualificationsMaster of Science degree in Electrical EngineeringWhy Arcadis?We empower employees to be their best.
