Insurance Attorney

Position SummaryMid-level attorney to work with the Enterprise Product Development team within Corporate Underwriting Services (CUS).Job ResponsibilitiesReview, draft and create insurance coverage forms for multiple business units and coverage lines, with emphasis on commercial property, inland marine and commercial auto as well as other standard P&C municate and collaborate with Underwriters, Managers, Claim Attorneys, Compliance and the Corporate Legal department to ensure products remain competitive while protecting their profitability.Help business units identify and prioritize product development needs.Remain apprised of and monitor U.S. case law, regulations, legal trends and emerging issues affecting insurance coverage.QualificationsJD from accredited law school and law license in good standing in at least one state in the U.S.2 - 5 years of insurance contract drafting and insurance industry experience.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Thorough understanding of insurance contract language and legal precedentPrior experience with commercial property, inland marine or commercial auto lines of business highly preferred.Ability to manage projects from concept to fruition with minimal oversightExcellent time management and organizational skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to review and assess the impact of legal decisions and court cases on insurance contract language.Base pay range$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yrEmployment detailsType: PermStart Date: ASAPEnd Date:Location: NYC, Jersey City, NJ, Hartford, CT, Boston, MA, Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, ILSalary Flex: $150,000 - $180,000/year - will depend upon locationAdditional compensation and benefitsTotal individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will consider several factors including geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
