What The Role IsOur Principal Consultants run whole project workstreams and contribute to our new business pipeline through project extensions or new client relationships. Core focus areas: Project delivery – independently mobilize, oversee & run project teams to deliver the best outcomes for clients within the Energy sector; proactively manage stakeholder relationships; identify and mitigate project risks; manage multiple projects; oversee budgets and resources. Business development – develop and grow our North American Energy sector business; lead brand awareness campaigns; sustain relationships and build Q5’s wider network; develop proposals and bids with expert insight. Practice management – mentor one or more Consultants or Senior Consultants; manage performance conversations; contribute to new offerings, training, and internal transformation. Location: Houston; Education: Postgraduate degree; Availability to travel and base yourself in the region (Houston). What We Ask For 10+ years of experience shaping and delivering projects in the Energy industry (in one or both of transformation or strategy roles). Experience in a leading consulting firm within their Energy practice with a focus on business transformation. Deep energy sector knowledge, understanding key market trends, history, and businesses in the industry. Experience in organization design and/or transformation, including target operating model, job architecture, organization effectiveness, change management, culture, behaviors, and ways of working. Proven ability to lead projects and teams in a consulting or industry environment; track record in generating billable work and driving business development, network building, and proposal development. Strong written and verbal communication; ability to develop compelling client deliverables and facilitate workshops. Intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and a learning mindset; ability to mentor others. Bachelor’s degree or higher (various disciplines welcome).
