This role is ideal for a confident leader who thrives in high-engagement environments and has a proven ability to cultivate and manage client relationships. Both strategic and hands-on, this position offers visibility across the firm, with direct engagement with firm leadership and discerning clients.Primary ResponsibilitiesIndependently lead and effectively manage external and internal teams to deliver and drive a project through all phases successfully while providing expertise and oversight in all areasProactively lead the development of design in collaboration with the clients, Principal and other team members. Effectively command internal teams to implement design vision, understand input, delegate priorities, and inform Principal in Charge to provide assurance that project is on trackLead and develop junior team members in the production, organization and coordination of the BIM model and drawing sets as required for presentations, agency approvals and construction for all project phases, ability to make timely decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, define and explain reasoning for decisions and include the appropriate people needed in the decision-making processAct as the primary contact for all client, consultant and contractor communications; maintaining constant, proactive communication on schedule, budget, costs and general project statusTrack all project financials, deadlines, and milestones; coordinate and adjust the work to ensure completion within the parameters of the agreed-to schedule and budgetAttend job site meetings, oversee RFI responses, submittals and shop drawing review during Construction AdministrationResponsible for tracking and anticipating staffing needs in coordination with the Architectural Operations ManagerAct as a champion for office standards (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) with regular participation and willingness to engage in office programsWillingness to engage in meaningful work outside of project work, that helps the firm achieve its Vision and Strategic planShare experiences (lessons learned) and unique insight as applicable to increase the Firm’s common knowledgeOther duties as assigned and required of the project and or firmQualificationsAccredited degree in architecture15 or more years of related professional experience, including extensive design, technical and project management on multiple complex projects at the same timeCalifornia State Architect’s license requiredThorough knowledge of technical issues, design and techniquesExperience on multiple high-end custom residential, hospitality, and workplace projectsDemonstrated 3D modeling/BIM proficiency to oversee work (Archicad, but not required)Demonstrated experience being able to manage and lead extended external and internal project teams (staff, client, consultants, etc.)Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff membersExtremely detail-oriented with the ability to produce accurate, succinct and complete work on timeExcellent verbal, written and graphic communication skillsAbility to travel within the United States as requiredCompensation and BenefitsWalker Warner offers a competitive compensation package including fully paid health benefits for employees, profit sharing, employer 401(k) contribution, generous paid time-off and flexible spending accounts, plus so much more.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume, cover letter and portfolio samples, with indication of your role on the projects submitted.
