Date Posted:2025-08-20Country:United States of AmericaLocation:MA131: Tewksbury, MA Bldg 1 Assabet 50 Apple Hill Drive Assabet - Building 1, Tewksbury, MA, 01876 USAPosition Role Type:OnsiteU.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements:The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required."‹ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceSecurity Clearance: DoD Clearance: SecretThe ADGE department is looking for a full-time Principal Engineer, located in Tewksbury, MAThis is an onsite roleResponsibilities to anticipate:Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirementsMechanical design, development, and documentation of cables, harnesses, and connectors to meet defense system requirementsLead small to mid-sized cross functional teams as a technical lead through all phases of development from proposal generation, program start up, requirements allocation, EACs, EV, preliminary and detailed design development, and productionHands-on lead and mentor to the engineering team as a technical expert within the integrated product team environmentCollaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challengesWork with limited supervision and meet technical, schedule, and monetary commitmentsParticipate in design peer reviews and conduct trade studies to promote sound technical decisionsApply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in an engaged team environmentEngage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers. Take an active role in understanding what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical frontDrawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporationWorking with manufacturing and suppliers to evaluate technical change requestsBasic Qualifications:Typically requires a BS in mechanical engineering with eight (8)+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with minimum three (3) years designing and developing cables and harnesses (preferably for use in Military environments)Strong knowledge of MIL-Spec Fiber Optic and Radio Frequency cables, assemblies, and connectorsExperience designing cables, harnesses and connectors for defense or commercial systemsProven track record to successfully lead teams to successfully complete design and release of documentation within schedule and budgetExperienced in EVMS, iStatus and EACs to track program performanceExperience developing program proposalExperience with Proposal/bidding process including SBT inputsThe ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance is required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
