AVP, Complex Construction Claims - NY Labor Law

In this high-impact role, you'll take charge of managing intricate, high-exposure construction and litigation claims while playing a key role in supporting our New York Labor Law team. The selected candidate will work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., with 20% travel expected within the New York metropolitan area.Key Responsibilities:Manage complex primary and excess high-exposure litigated general liability claims with an emphasis on litigated construction claims, from inception to resolution.Collaborate with your colleagues to drive best practices and optimal claims outcomes.Ensure regular communication with clients, brokers, business units, and senior claims management.Proactively manage and resolve high-severity injury claims while adhering to Zurich’s best practices.Accurately document claims files, capturing and updating relevant data to ensure compliance with industry standards.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience managing litigated general liability claims, including high-severity casesORJuris Doctor (JD) with 4+ years of experience managing general liability claims, including high-severity casesORHigh School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10+ years of experience managing litigated general liability claims, including high-severity casesORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, with an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience managing litigated general liability claims, including high-severity casesMust obtain and retain required adjuster licensesProficiency with Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and productsPreferred Qualifications:SCLA, AIC, CPCU certification or a JD10+ years of experience managing litigated general liability claims, including high-severity cases with an emphasis on construction claimsExperience with New York Labor LawProven skills in claim evaluation, coverage analysis, and negotiationStrong organizational and time management abilitiesExceptional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work both independently and in a collaborative team environmentAt Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled.
