Project Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects including highways, bridges, utilities, site development, and other infrastructure work. This role requires strong analytical skills, field experience, and proficiency in estimating software. Key Responsibilities: * Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. * Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. * Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on scope and pricing. * Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews. * Prepare bid packages and proposals for public and private sector clients. * Track historical cost data and maintain estimating databases. * Identify risk factors and develop contingency plans. * Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred). * 5+ years of experience in heavy civil estimating. * Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam, or similar). * Strong understanding of construction means and methods. * Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills. * Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications. * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * Knowledge of DOT and municipal bidding procedures (preferred).
