ABOUTThe Georgia Swarm Professional Lacrosse Organization is an esteemed member of the National Lacrosse League and the leading box lacrosse team in the greater Atlanta region. Our front office is based in Duluth, GA, and our games take place at the Gas South Arena.EXPECTATIONS: Are you a highly organized and proactive individual with a passion for retail and a knack for leadership? We're looking for a dedicated Merchandise Lead Associate to be the linchpin of our merchandise operations, ensuring everything runs seamlessly from inventory to game day sales. In this vital role, you'll bridge the gap between our management team and the rest of the merchandise team, helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our fans. Our work environment is fast paced and energetic, so we're looking for someone with positivity, a great sense of urgency who is a quick learner and can think quickly, but logically in key situations. This role provides exposure to the Atlanta sports business community to make connections and insights into a growing team in the sports industry in metro Atlanta. We pride ourselves on giving the opportunity for a truly motivated individual to leave this role fully ready to launch their career.QUALIFICATIONS:High-energy, friendly personality Outstanding communication skills Ability to communicate with coworkers, guests, and managers Understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and an ability to relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds Work long hours on game day, weekends, and holidays Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds at once Associate will be required to stand and move throughout their shift Assisting retail brand ambassador team as needed RESPONSIBILITIES: Seasonal Position from November - June (Required to work all Swarm Home Games & up to 8 hours a week in office on non game days) Act as the primary point of contact and communication between the management team and all other merchandise associates, disseminating information and ensuring alignment. Take the lead on accurate inventory counts, maintaining meticulous records, and identifying discrepancies. Ensure all merchandise is logically organized, neatly presented, and easily accessible within storage areas and on the sales floor. Efficiently pull and prepare merchandise for sale as needed, ensuring timely replenishment on game days and other events. Play a key role in the setup and tear down of merchandise displays and sales areas for all game days and special events. Proactively monitor and manage merchandise operations on game days, anticipating needs, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of sales. Provide guidance and support to other merchandise associates, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Identify and address any operational challenges or bottlenecks to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction. Must work all games throughout the season (Dec. - May), a flexible schedule is also a must Greeting customers and responding to questions pertaining to the merchandise, all while providing outstanding customer service Knowledge of operating registers and Square.Learning the loaded ticket functions and other promotional discounts for eligible customers Superior product knowledge of all brands and material while ensuring that all merchandise is correctly labeled and displayed Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customers' needs Other duties, functions, and special projects and responsibilities as assigned by manager Have reliable transportation to and from work for all games REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience in retail operations, preferably in a merchandise or inventory-focused role. Strong organizational skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proactive and problem-solving mindset, able to anticipate needs and resolve issues efficiently. Physical ability to lift and move merchandise as needed, and to stand for extended periods. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by game schedules and events. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and attention to client satisfaction Must be able to follow directions with little guidance or specific direction depending given tasks, respond to management direction, and treat people professionally and with respect at all times WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes long hours. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs and stand on feet for long periods of time and at times working in an extremely loud environment.
