You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.Why You Should Apply:Competitive Pay:Earn up to $1297 per week, or $32.43 per hour – plus benefits!*Flexible Work Schedule:Enjoy a 13 week assignment 10/27/2025 - 01/24/2026 with a 40-hour work week and 4 shifts per week.Location:Rochester, New YorkGreat Benefits:Medical, 401(k) with company match, and more!* Pay package is based on 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined for travel positions.Position OverviewType of Position: TravelDescription:Anesthesia Technologist PositionScheduleSunday - Wednesday; 6:30am - 4:30pm ESTHolidays, weekends, on call, call back as neededSpecific Responsibilities Under limited direct supervision:Patient Care Support (20%)Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia including: preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to the patient's arrival, placement of anesthesia monitors, ensuring the cleanliness of anesthesia equipment, ensuring availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies and the set-up of medications and supplies where applicableContinuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs and anesthesia technologists to ensure their needs are met throughout the dayAssist clinicians with difficult intubations and the placement of central line cathetersAdvanced Surgical Cases (20%)Operate the cell-saver machine, keep track of lab reports, and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical casesWork directly with service-specific faculty Division Chief of designated specialtyProvide on-call coverageEquipment Management (20%)Provide primary support in ensuring that the anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completedSet up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshootingServe as the key resource person in using and maintaining specialized equipmentTraining and Development (15%)Assist the Chief Anesthesia Technologist in the development and implementation of in-service training programsAssist in training of staff in the roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technologistEquipment Setup and Testing (15%)Perform anesthesia equipment set up and troubleshooting such as testing Infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors, calibrating anesthesia machines, and attaching fiberoptic bronchoscopes to the video monitorRoom Setup and Coordination (5%)Set-up rooms between cases, set-up carts throughout the day and provides full service set up at the end of the dayWork with other hospital units to ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipmentPerform set-up and support of ectopic procedures for anesthesia care ensuring proper equipment is in place for out-of-OR proceduresBackup Support (5%)Provide back up to shift supervisor in his/her absence due to vacation or illnessPerform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Chief Anesthesia Technologist, or Operations ManagerRequired QualificationsBLSTwo years of experience as an Anesthesia TechPreferred QualificationsA four year college education, including related technical training; or a two year college education which included technical training closely related to this position and two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCertification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferredAdditional RequirementsTwo (2) Year's Experience highly desiredBLS preferred (American Heart Association ONLY)Alerion Healthcare Job ID #1518.
