Job Purpose: Lead and oversee all aspects and activities of Production Enginering Business Unit (PEBU) Workload within the Frame Equipment (Weld, Assembly and Paint) category. Maintain and utilize labor indices to formulate and summarize unit level long-term workload. Propose and implement the maker-layout strategy to align resources with the overall business unit strategy. Continously improve on short-term workload by providing workload versus capacity analysis on a monthly basis to all levels of management. Based on analysis, propose countermeasures and gain consensus for necessary action to align resources with project requirements. Gain consensus and set maker layout monthly. Manage workload data and reporting to communicate gaps and implement countermeasures. Key Accountabilities Using engineering expertise, lead, establish and implement strategies to improve the operating characteristics and standardization of the workload system under assigned Unit or as Regional Operations (RO)/Business Unit Function As the Workload Expert with engineering expertise, lead and manage the monthly workload process including setting maker layout (GO/RO/Suppliers) with consideration for technical challenges, schedule, and internal and external capacity analysis. Create resource plans based on review of technical specifications for project content. Provide quick countermeasure to systemic issues within the process. Ensure workload and capacity planning includes considerations of Honda strategic direction by working with our manufacturing strategy divison and North America plants. Correlate Production Enginering Business Unit (PEBU) capacity with the Manpower Controller to ensure alignment of resources and workload. Provide visual image of workload vs capacity with completed analysis that Production Enginering Business Unit (PEBU) leadership can utilize for operational planning. Set maker layout monthly by gaining consensus within the organization and project teams considering a wide range of business and technical factors. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills: Bachelors degree in Engineering Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with experience in engineering and/or manufacturing people management or project management Experience in multiple areas of an engineering and/or manufacturing organization Understands specification, design, manufacturing, and install phases of equipment/tooling development. Previous experience in a people leadership role would be beneficial Working Conditions: Located at Genpo site with expectation of being on-site as the primary work location Estimated 80% Office and 20% Virtual Travel as required to other Production Enginering Business Unit (PEBU) locations or Honda facilities What differentiates Honda and makes us an employer of choice?
