Siemens Mobility provides efficient and integrated transportation of people and goods by rail and road - including rolling stock, rail automation, and rail electrification. We design and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Head of Bid Management to build and lead the commercial and financial aspects of our bid management team operations in Sacramento, CA. This critical leadership role supports our growing production backlog and future tenders in the Rolling Stock North America portfolio. Ideally, you have worked with large-scale (multi-billion) bids, Project Management, LoA process, Contract Management, and Pricing Strategies to drive transformation!________________________________________What your day-to-day will look like:As the Commercial Head of Bid Management, you will drive the success of large-scale rolling stock tenders by directing a team of commercial bid managers and collaborating with key partners across the organization.Lead the commercial management of sales and proposal projects in line with Siemens’ PM@Siemens (LoA) guidelines.Develop and implement pricing strategies and commercial offers tailored to each tender.Identify critical success factors in contracts and lead sophisticated negotiations.Optimize and standardize bid processes for efficiency and accuracy.Create cost optimization strategies aligned with tender requirements.Oversee all financial and contractual aspects of the proposal process.Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of commercial bid managers.Foster cross-functional collaboration to integrate lessons learned into future bids.Manage the bid portfolio and oversee sales controlling, including forecasts and reporting.________________________________________To thrive in this role, you have:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.10+ years of experience in commercial project management or proposal development for complex, international projects (preferably in rail, plant engineering, or mechanical engineering).Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop teams.Strong knowledge of value flows, accounting, reporting, planningExtensive background in contract negotiations and contract managementProject management certification (e.g., Senior Commercial Project Manager under PM@Siemens) is a plus.A collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.At Siemens Mobility Inc., we’re shaping the future of transportation. The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA, is $190,100 - $223,500 and the annual incentive target is 20% of the base salary.
