Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles Position Overview: In this position, you will be part of an Engineering team to make Siemens Lexington the most efficient train manufacturer in the world. You will incorporate your experience along with best practices from around the world to establish production processes. Since Lexington is a new plant your impact on the process layout will have immediate impact. What your day-to-day will look like: Plan process flow, equipment layout, and line balancing Design/source tools, templates, jigs, and fixtures based on engineering requirements. Work with other engineering functions, external vendors and service providers Prepare production floor layouts to meet planned takt time and schedule. Review engineering drawings and 3D models to understand manufacturing process requirements. Lead manufacturing improvements, process changes, and technology changes. Develop standard work instructions using Timer Pro To thrive in this role, you have: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment including assembly, welding and coatings. Experience with 2D & 3D CAD systems, ERP systems, and manufacturing execution software. Experience in production line environment preferably in rail or aviation Strong project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines, budgets. Practical knowledge of lean principles to reduce waste. A hands-on approach to problem-solving and countermeasure implementation. Physical Demands: The position is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more. The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $89,300 - $120,900.
