Performs related work. Examples of Typical Tasks:1. Supervises housekeepers, service aides, and related staff in scheduling work and assigning staff.2. Schedules specific times for certain housekeeping projects.3. Makes-up tour schedules.4. Conducts training classes for instructing subordinate personnel in specific tasks.5. Counsels housekeepers and related staff on conducting training classes and audits training sessions. Sees that new staff are properly assigned for on-the-job training.6. Makes inspections of floors on spot-check basis to see that standards are being maintained and that adequate measures have been taken for infection control.7. Inspects clean linen supply and soiled, garbage disposal procedures and basement areas.8. Recommends changes in standards.9. Counsels and disciplines staff and monitors attendance.10. Hears grievances, gives warning notices, and participates in grievance procedures conducted by supervising Housekeeper.11. Recommends need for new staff. May interview potential staff.12. Deals with problems with professional, administrative, and maintenance staff.13. Keeps records of supplies and requisitions needed supplies through Supervising Housekeeper, service aides, and related staff.14. Keeps records of findings on daily rounds, reviews daily activity logs and prepares written reports on results of inspections and actions taken.15. Reviews written reports of subordinate personnel and writes disciplinary and personnel reports.16. Conducts periodic meetings with housekeepers to discuss problems and explain new equipment or materials.17.
