OverviewLeidos has a new and exciting opportunity for a System Engineer/Operational Site Liaison in our National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Join us and make a difference in National Security!You will serve as a technical specialist in a customer-facing role, serving as the primary interface between Leidos and two operational sites supporting a critical high-value, no-fail mission. You must have extensive hands-on technical expertise as well as strong interpersonal skills. This role is critical to maintaining situational awareness of the operational systems, serving as the liaison between geographically separated operational centers and engineering development and sustainment groups. You will analyze and synthesize solutions as part of your daily routine, including regular interaction with the Leidos Operations Lead. Weekly coordination with the Leidos Contract Program Management Office is required in this high-visibility role, necessitating strong verbal and written communication to ensure full transparency and constant situational awareness of deployed mission operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive, direct experience with all aspects of site operations.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating activities between the Leidos technical engineering staff and the Government Operations TeamTrouble ticket synchronization between the Customer Operations center ticketing system and the Leidos engineering tools, providing daily maintenance status for all open ticketsDelivering threat policy orchestration to Operations twice weekly, ensuring continuous updates maintaining operational system security requirementsParticipating as a non-voting member of the Government Operations Defect Review Board (DRB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB)Participating in the weekly Government Incident Triage Meeting, providing input, and reporting back to the Operations Lead on all items that will become Discrepancy Reports (DRs)Participating in the weekly Government Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) status review meeting, delivering the cadence of IAVAs to ensure secure mission operationsServing as the primary Point of Contact (POC) to the Government Operations Team for program-related matters, ensuring daily synchronization with the Operations LeadCoordinating visitation between operational sites and contractor spacesKeeping abreast of issues or concerns from the user and stakeholder community and reviewing that information with the Operations LeadMaintaining regular communication with the Government Site Management and technical support staff and the engineering and support staff assisting with operational support of the sitesEngineering and supporting staff coordination and communication across the teams required to support any issue or request from the field to achieve the desired end resultBasic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a technical field and at least eight (8) years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degreeAt least seven (7) years of experience providing support for users and systems in Information Technology and/or information security environmentsAt least five (5) years in a direct customer-facing role with demonstrated strength in verbal and written communicationsAt least four (4) years of experience with trouble ticketing systems in Tier 1/2/3 environments and issue escalation scenarios in operationsExperience in problem resolution across all 3 Tiers: front-end Help Desk, advanced troubleshooting, and working with developers and engineers for root cause analysisExperience helping users, optimizing system operations, and monitoring IT enterprise systemsSolid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards, and information security principles and practicesIn-depth experience with software and security architecturesIndependent thinker, able to work both independently and within a teamCommitment to best practices including maintenance windows and change-control proceduresAbility to respond to operational issues while on-callSome travel may be required, typically 2-3 trips to Texas for 2-3 days eachClearance Required: TS/SCI with PolygraphPreferred QualificationsExperience in an Operations center environment with advanced security architecturesExperience with Network Security Technologies (e.g., Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, IAVAs)Experience participating in CCBs and DRBs with demonstrated issue-resolution experienceExperience with switches, firewalls, and network load balancers in an enterprise networkExperience in System Administration supporting software configuration management and development environmentsAt Leidos, opportunities are boundless.
