We combine our creative storytelling expertise with large-scale production resources, uniquely positioning us to create, market, and distribute gaming content for our diverse client portfolio of top gaming development companies and major brands.The Capture Director at Dark Burn Creative is a pivotal creative and leadership role responsible for overseeing the capture of in game footage to produce high quality trailers and promotional content. This position requires a skilled Photographer/Cinematographer with a strong understanding of cinematic language and expertise in working within video game environments to create visually stunning shots. Capture Directors collaborate closely with capture artists, creative directors, and editors to bring creative visions to life, ensuring that all video game captures align with client briefs and meets the high standards of Dark Burn Creative’s global portfolio.This position is based on-site at our Woodland Hills, California office.ResponsibilitiesTeam Management: Lead and manage a team of capture artists, providing direction, feedback, and mentorship to ensure high quality output and professional development. Foster a collaborative and creative team environment.Creative Execution: Interpret and execute client briefs by working within video game environments to capture compelling shots that align with the creative vision for trailers and promotional materials.Shot List Implementation: Work from a detailed shot list to film scenes, ensuring each shot meets the desired aesthetic and narrative goals.Cinematic Storytelling: Utilize expertise in cinematic language to block out and create visually striking scenes, akin to a film set, within the constraints of video game engines.Collaboration: Partner with other teams, including editors, writers, and clients, to ensure seamless project execution from concept to postproduction.Feedback Integration: Incorporate constructive criticism and manage multiple rounds of feedback to refine captured content, ensuring alignment with client expectations.Technical Proficiency: Operate cameras and other capture tools within game environments, leveraging both keyboard/mouse and controller inputs to achieve desired results.Adaptability: Thrive in a fast paced, constantly evolving industry, adapting to new game engines, tools, and client requirements as needed.Qualifications5+ years working with cameras and understanding cinematic languageComfortability gaming with both Keyboard/Mouse and a ControllerCreative vendor or studio experience preferredKnowledge of video games and enjoy playing themAbility to work in a team environmentComfortable in a constantly evolving industryExperience in Adobe Creative Suite is a huge plus, but not requiredO.K. with constructive criticism and several rounds of feedback.LocationThis position is on-site at our Woodland Hills, California office.About Trailer Park Group / Working at TPGroupGreat work is only possible with great people. In addition to base salary, TPG offers a comprehensive benefits package to support the physical and emotional wellness of our employees.
