Employees are responsible for all other duties as assigned. Operate as a law enforcement officer pursuant to authority given by the Board of Governors by Section 11 (q) of the Federal Reserve Act; authorized personnel act as law enforcement officers pursuant to the regulations of the Board of Governors and approved by the U.S. Attorney General (Uniform Regulations for Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officers). Apply strong law enforcement, operations management, people management, and performance management skills. Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication in moderate to complex situations. Supervise Law Enforcement Unit (LEU) shift operations, including planning, scheduling, time-off approvals, coordinating operations and special events, continuous monitoring, and implementing operational improvements. Evaluate and direct staff in sensitive or potentially dangerous situations; make lawful arrests and/or detentions as needed. Perform safety and security duties; report violations, prepare incident reports, and coordinate responses with emergency services as needed. Ensure security and life-safety systems are monitored and maintained; coordinate preventative maintenance and service calls as needed. Provide accurate and timely communication to staff; lead team meetings, roll calls, and shift reports to facilitate policy and procedural understanding. Measure teamwork and morale; model excellence and support department initiatives. Direct staff development, advise on development plans, supervise performance, administer training, and support succession planning. Provide timely performance evaluations and ongoing feedback; participate in calibration and performance discussions. Address performance issues, document facts, and coordinate corrective actions with supervisory and HR staff. Collaborate with HR on hiring needs, conduct interviews, and coordinate onboarding for new hires. Write clear, concise documents and review subordinates’ documents to ensure quality. Maintain controls and compliance with laws, policies, and guidelines; address deviations as needed. Support or lead miscellaneous project work, compliance reviews, policy revisions, and other assignments. Act as a law enforcement liaison to other departments and outside agencies. Perform post duties and equipment monitoring as needed. Minimum Qualifications Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Federal Reserve Police Sergeant or two years of supervisory experience in law enforcement. Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or related field preferred. Meets firearms and other law enforcement equipment qualification/training requirements as outlined in the Federal Reserve System Law Enforcement Training Manual (FRSLETM). Thorough knowledge of Twelfth District bank-wide policies and procedures; understands intra- and inter-departmental functions. Knowledge of the Bank’s organizational structure and building layout; stays current with trends in law enforcement operations and technology. Proficient in PCs, email, Word and Excel; able to learn additional computer-based training applications. Ability to lead change, resolve conflicts, plan and supervise work, manage projects, and exercise sound judgment. Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interact effectively with people inside and outside the Bank; defuse high-tension situations. Capability to perform all duties of the Sergeant job classification; must complete and pass the Basic Law Enforcement Course and Field Training upon hire. Hiring Salary Range: Min $86,700 - Mid $112,400 - Max $138,200 Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
