Senior Electrical Engineer Detroit, MI | Hybrid (3 days in office) $90,000 – $140,000+ | Sign-on bonus + relocation available | No Sponsorship Available Are you a licensed Professional Engineer with expertise in power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems ? Our client, one of the nation’s most established architecture and engineering firms, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and lead building systems for large-scale commercial and industrial facilities . In this role, you’ll be directly responsible for the design of interior/exterior lighting, power distribution (including standby generation), telecommunications, security, audiovisual, grounding, and site electrical distribution systems . You’ll work on high-profile projects such as battery plants, automotive facilities, medical centers, and corporate headquarters , collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver integrated solutions. This is a client-facing, hands-on design role — ideal for someone who thrives on technical detail, teamwork, and seeing their designs come to life on unique, complex projects. Why Join Work on diverse, nationally recognized projects in commercial & industrial markets Be part of an employee-owned, collaborative team Hybrid schedule with flexibility Competitive compensation + bonus structure Comprehensive benefits package with PTO, 401(k) match, and professional development support Key Responsibilities Lead electrical system design for commercial and industrial buildings Oversee and mentor junior engineers and designers Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and specifications Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required Professional Engineer (PE) license required 10+ years of electrical design experience in the A/E industry Expertise in power distribution, lighting, telecom, and low-voltage systems Proficiency with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with NFPA 70 and lighting software (Visual Lighting, AGi32) Strong communication and client-facing skills Willingness to travel up to 20% Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
