Vista Del Mar Senior Living is a large, vibrant assisted living community in Long Beach dedicated to providing exceptional care and meaningful experiences for our residents. Our mission is rooted in quality service, resident and employee satisfaction, and operational excellence. We are seeking an experienced and certified RCFE Executive Director to serve as Interim Administrator during a planned FMLA leave. We anticipate the role to last 5-6 months. This role requires a leader who can successfully manage a large and diverse workforce and resident population while focusing on five top priorities: providing excellent resident care, maintaining/increasing census, controlling costs, ensuring regulatory compliance with Title 22, and achieving high resident and employee satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Professional Standards Lead a large and diverse team, fostering a culture of professionalism, respect, and accountability. Model our Mission, Philosophy of Care, and Program Standards in daily operations. Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Community Operations Oversee all day-to-day operations in compliance with Title 22, company policies, and safety standards. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment, ensuring infection control, fire safety, and OSHA compliance. Conduct regular inspections to uphold quality and compliance. Protect residents’ rights and well-being. Financial Management & Census Development Operate within the approved budget during the interim period, with strong cost-control measures. Monitor labor costs, food costs, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll. Prepare and submit financial and operational reports. Drive census growth and maintain an optimal resident mix through effective marketing and referral outreach. Program & Staff Management Maintain existing resident programs and community initiatives. Oversee hiring, orientation, training, and performance evaluations as needed. Provide coaching and mentorship to staff to ensure morale and retention. Monitor staffing levels and assist with scheduling. Marketing & Community Relations Support marketing efforts to sustain and increase occupancy. Engage with local referral sources, community leaders, and industry partners. Represent Vista Del Mar at events and through networking opportunities. Maintain the community’s positive reputation in Long Beach and surrounding areas. Qualifications Licensure: Active and valid RCFE Administrator Certificate (required). Experience: Proven success managing large teams and diverse resident populations in a senior living setting. Strong track record in census growth, cost control, and regulatory compliance (Title 22). Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to interact with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Technical Skills: Proficient in computer systems and financial reporting. Physical: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Compliance: Must meet all state health requirements and pass a criminal background check. Availability: Full-time for the assignment, including some weekends and 24/7 on-call responsibilities. Salary: $120,000 - $140,000/year + census and compliance bonus
