Aquarium Service Tech Apprentice/Fulfilment Specialist Overview We are looking for new additions to our growing team in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate is skilled in customer service, communication, and is detail-oriented. Prior aquatic experience is not as important as a strong work ethic and sharing our company’s passion and respect for aquatic life. Anticipated Work Duties The day-to-day needs of our clients and business varies widely. An ideal candidate is flexible and may: Move, Install, and Maintain display and storage aquariums at our location Assist our aquarium service team in a wide variety of tasks for our clients Receive and organize shipments of plants, aquariums, and other merchandise Fulfil orders for plants, corals, and other merchandise Clean and maintain our company aquariums, packing area, storage area, bathroom, break room, and other areas of the business Assorted miscellaneous aquarium service tasks, such as transporting fish, delivering medicine to clients, and troubleshooting equipment. After training, providing light aquarium service on freshwater aquariums in our clients’ residences and businesses Ideal Qualifications We will holistically review applications and conduct interviews to assess candidates’ fit for our position. We encourage you to list on your resume if you have any of the following or related qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle Reliable independent transportation to our facility and job sites is required Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and lift/carry heavy merchandise for long periods of time. Frequently will be required to lift/carry up to 2 jugs of water, each weighing up to 40 lbs, up and down staircases and across long hallways. This position may assist a team in lifting aquariums weighing several hundred pounds. Accommodations can be made for smaller jugs filled with less water and more work hours allocated to lighter tasks. College - level education is preferred, especially in marine biology, environmental science, business, marketing, social media, communication, or related subjects References from work experiences that can attest to your skills in communication, team work, customer service, etc Personal references that can attest to your consistency, reliability, and attitudes towards aquatic animals Hobbies such as board games or outdoor recreation are a great plus! Work Environment and Schedule This is a full-time position, but part-time positions may be made available to accommodate scheduling needs; for example, if you are a student at a local college. This position is based at our location in Nashville, TN, but some job tasks require travel to our clients for deliveries and aquarium service. Our work and schedule varies dramatically - every week we receive several urgent and unexpected calls for local aquarium service. We occasionally travel to expositions and conventions. We occasionally travel long distances to deliver and install aquariums or other merchandise. Work tasks and locations can change daily according to the needs of our clients. Compensation and Perks This entry-level position pays a competitive hourly rate depending on skills and qualifications. Exceptional candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus to assist with settling in to the position during training. We offer all employees an inflation-beating raise every year (adjusted for partial years worked) and a raise with job position changes, such as to a full-time aquatic service technician or full-time e-commerce specialist.
