CHS, Inc is in search for a HazGas Safety Specialist to provide expertise in our propane businesses. This position will assist in the oversight of propane safety programs, provide technical support on safety matters to our employees, review and implement policies to ensure compliance of federal, state, and local regulations. Compensation DataHiring Range: $83,500-$139,500 ResponsibilitiesWorking knowledge of NFPA 54 & 58Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and publicConduct complex EH&S related audits at propane bulk plants and dispensing stationsCommunicate EH&S related requirements and expectations to other departments and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environmentOversee and ensure the effectiveness of all required employee safety training, including but not limited to PEP (Propane Education & Research Council's Certified, Employee Training Program), and support the adoption of technology-based learning platformsBe a change agent by introducing new processes, systems, or ideas, and guiding others through the changePerform other responsibilities as needed or assigned Minimum Qualifications (required)High School diploma or GED4+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety Additional QualificationsEnergy background, facility operation, and management experienceAbility to deliver propane industry training from the Propane Education and Research CouncilPropane, industrial gas, or related chemical industry work experience preferredAssociates Degree in Safety or related discipline; or a minimum of 5 years of experience within the propane industryOther industry or related training desirablePre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse Physical RequirementsAbility to climb ladders and operate equipment is needed to inspect facilitiesAbility to work in dusty and adverse and changeable weather conditions CHS offers a competitive total rewards package.
