Job Details Position Title: Bartender Employment Type: Full-Time, Non Exempt Schedule: 35-40 hours per week Reports To: General Manager/Bar Manager About Ayla Opening in later 2025 in the heart of Venice, Ayla is a farm-to-table restaurant celebrating the union of refined American cuisine and timeless Mediterranean flavors. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards. Deliver consistent, high-quality drinks while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Interact with guests in a warm, professional, and engaging manner to enhance the overall dining and bar experience. Perform barback duties, including restocking, juicing, batching cocktails, cutting garnishes, labeling products, and maintaining par levels throughout service. Ensure bar stations are fully stocked, organized, and set up for service; conduct regular line checks. Assist with receiving, stocking, rotating, and storing bar inventory. Monitor and manage responsible alcohol service in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including equipment, tools, and glassware. Stay knowledgeable about current beverage offerings, menu items, and seasonal features. Communicate effectively with team members and management to support smooth service. Address guest concerns professionally and promptly, escalating issues when necessary Qualifications Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume, upscale bar or restaurant. Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology techniques, beer, and wine. Polished personal presentation with excellent guest service and communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Valid California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Certification and Food Handler’s Certification required. Sommelier training or advanced wine knowledge is a plus. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
