Learn more at and DivisionDivision: UNT-Student AffairsSubDivision-Department: UNT-Union AdministrationDepartment: UNT-Union Admin-163110Position SummaryResponsible for planning, installation and coordination of all technical systems, programs and events; specification, maintenance, and management of all installed and delivered mobile video, audio, projection and theatrical lighting systems.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in related field and 4 years of audio, video, or media production experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of principles of audio, video, and interactive media production.Ability to manage the work of others. Considerable knowledge of audio and video recording techniques.Ability to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, etc.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in equipment or software. Some positions may require knowledge of copyright law and its applications to A/V materials.Experience supervising, training and managing employees.Understanding of proper equipment maintenance practices.Experience prioritizing various technical needs.Preferred QualificationsPrevious supervisory or team lead experience.Prior experience with automation software such as Extron or Crestron.Prior experience designing and deploying A/V and collaborative technologies.Prior experience in livestream broadcasting and content management systems (e.g., Panopto).Knowledge and experience with Windows and Mac Operating Systems.Essential ResponsibilitiesStaff Administration:Supervise staff of full and part-time student employees.Follow guidelines for filling vacancies.Establish in-service training program for employees.Provide scheduling that makes best use of staff in a cost-effective manner, while providing necessary coverage.Evaluate performance of municate charges with Union Reservationist.Approve and submit staff time sheets.Maintenance:Maintain a working inventory of all technical equipment.Provide procedure for controlled access to equipment.Provide ongoing preventative itiate repairs to minimize disruption of Union operations.Establish supply and inventory of needed replacement items (bulbs, cords, etc.).Professionalism:Attend scheduled Union Administrative staff meetings.Maintain flexibility to meet changing needs.Serve on Union and University committees as requested.Attend conferences and workshops as appropriate.Meet with supervisor regularly to discuss problems or concerns.Maintain professional conduct and appearance.Service Co Worker Effectiveness:Maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, patrons, and coworkers.Support and comply with University and Union policies, procedures, and mission.Demonstrate initiative and perform duties accurately.Assist with goals, objectives, and special projects.Participate on Union and University mitment to professional growth and development.Attend reservations meetings weekly and voice concerns.Safety Accident Prevention:Report unsafe acts and conditions to supervisor promptly.Use safe work habits and methods to prevent injuries.Use safety equipment properly.Keep equipment in good working order and return to proper area after use.Technical:Repair and maintain all technical equipment in good condition.Train staff in advanced sound systems, on-location video recordings and live streaming production services.Maintain organized check-out and return of mobile sound system equipment.Conduct onsite evaluations before event dates.Coordinate with maintenance vendors to sustain event space audio and video software and hardware.Physical RequirementsCommunicating with others; climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding; lifting up to 100+ pounds; moving between worksites; operating machinery and vehicles; repetitive motions; sedentary work at times.Environmental HazardsOutdoor elements and noisy environments.Work ScheduleMonday – Friday, 8am–5pmBenefitsFor information regarding our Benefits, click here.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of North Texas System is an equal opportunity employer committed to preventing discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence) and retaliation.
