Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to serve as the Maintenance Operations Superintendent providing staff support to unit maintenance activities including but not limited to contingency/war/mobility planning; budgeting; maintenance planning and scheduling, productivity data analysis, and training, maintenance operations center, maintenance supply support; manpower; support agreements; and other. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs full-time activities of the Maintenance Operations and advises the Maintenance Group (MXG) Senior ART concerning assigned programs. Duties: 1: Manages, develops, and directs key programs and activities for Maintenance Operations and the Maintenance Group (MXG). 2: Directs the accomplishment of a variety of special projects/studies for the wing/group. 3: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises the Maintenance Group senior ART/Commander on maintenance support matters. 4: Represents Maintenance Operations at conferences, working groups, management reviews as well as with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. 5: Provides maintenance support for deployment requirements. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. The incumbent's primary responsibilities are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 3. May be required to work unusual tour of duty or extended hours during emergencies or surge scenarios.
