Senior Tax ManagerAustin AssociatesAuburn, MEAustin Associates is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join their collaborative, community-focused team to provide expert accounting services. Employees can be based in their Auburn or Skowhegan, Maine offices with flexible work arrangements.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.CPA Licensure or EA Certification highly desirable.5+ years of experience in tax accounting and/or financial statement preparation and supervision required.Understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, combined with a strategic mindset.Experience managing multiple client engagements efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Proven project management skills, with a client-focused approach.Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of navigating complex tax issues.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly explain complex tax matters to diverse audiences both internally and externally.Proficiency in tax preparation, depreciation, tax research software, and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Benefits:Salary in the range of $80K-$100K+, depending on experience and bonus prehensive benefits package including health insurance and retirement pany paid Continuing Professional Education, annual licensure/certifications, CPA and EA course preparation and exam reimbursement, and opportunities for upward mobility.Flexible work arrangements that promote a healthy work-life balance in a collaborative and supportive environment, including a shortened workday on Fridays in the summer.Generous paid vacation and holidays, including floating holidays during tax season.Responsibilities:Provide consultative management advisory services to individual clients on complex tax planning strategies, corporate restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions, tax projections.Review, sign, manage, and supervise the preparation of federal, state, and local individual, business, fiduciary, and other tax returns and tax projections.Develop, implement, and communicate tax strategies clearly and effectively to clients.Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions tailored to meet our clients’ needs.Evaluate risks and opportunities in tax positions, provide guidance on corporate transactions, business restructuring, and other major financial decisions, communicate findings clearly and persuasively to clients.Assist in responding to IRS and state notices, inquiries, and audits.Continuously develop technical competencies and stay current on tax laws and regulations.Provide mentorship and development opportunities to Tax Accountants and Senior Tax Accountants to cultivate their professional growth.For 75 years, Austin Associates has been a trusted partner in delivering innovative solutions with integrity and precision.
