Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year A bit about us: We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our Employment Law team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in employment litigation and counseling and will help represent employers in sensitive workplace matters, class or representative actions, and general employment risk mitigation. You'll work on meaningful, high-stakes employment and labor matters Opportunity to develop expertise in employer-defense and employment counseling Collaborative environment with mentors and senior attorneys Exposure to both litigation and advisory work Encouragement to contribute to thought leadership, client education, and business development Competitive compensation and benefits (to be determined by candidate experience and market) Job Details Key Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage & hour claims, and contract disputes Handle representative and class actions (e.g. PAGA or similar claims) under supervision Provide counseling to clients on a broad range of employment issues: • Classification of employees (exempt/non-exempt) • Independent contractor analyses • Leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, etc.) • Policies (handbooks, sexual harassment, etc.) • Discipline, termination, and performance management Draft, review, and revise employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, and employee handbooks Conduct internal workplace investigations—especially in high-stakes or sensitive settings Perform employment law audits — reviewing client policies, practices, and procedures for compliance and exposure risks Provide practical, business-minded advice consistent with client budgets Work collaboratively with partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to strategize case management Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and, as needed, trial or hearing preparations Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and communicate updates to clients and internally Qualifications & Skills Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school 2 to 5 years of substantive experience in employment law or complex litigation Experience defending employers in employment-related matters Comfortable handling representative or class claims (or ready to ramp up) Strong drafting, writing, analytical, and research skills Excellent client-facing, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple matters concurrently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks independently Sound practical judgment with a business-oriented mindset Willingness to assist in business development efforts (e.g. writing client alerts, internal training, or proposals) Admission to the state bar (or ability to become admitted) where the role is based Familiarity with employment statutes, regulations (e.g. FMLA, ADA, WARN, wage & hour laws), and recent legal trends Interested in hearing more?
