OverviewHighmark Health is seeking a Director Data Science R&D to pioneer the introduction of new analytical approaches and transform complex data into actionable insights. You/'ll be a catalyst for change, collaborating with senior leaders to implement data-driven strategies aligned with the Quintuple Aim. Join our Advanced Analytics group and unlock your potential to revolutionize healthcare through innovative data science.ResponsibilitiesPerform management responsibilities including hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.Develop and deliver the vision, strategy, development, and coordination of Highmark Health/'s data science capability. Be the main subject matter expert for data science methodologies, advise colleagues on correct application, drive innovation within the data science community. Keep up to date with developments in the field of data science; lead coordination of technology partners and advanced analytics colleagues to ensure access to and use of appropriate tools and resources, both now and in the longer term. Represent Highmark as a healthcare industry leader in advanced analytics internally and externally.Represent the entire Advanced Analytics group as the primary stakeholder for Highmark/'s analytical data products, ensuring data colleagues supply the most relevant, highest-quality features and that feature engineering and data exploration conducted with our group are fed back to data teams to productionize and make available to everyone.Oversee delivery of novel data science use cases that do not yet align with existing patterns. This includes partnering with the business to understand needs and requirements, designing a solution, adapting processes to deliver the solution, and driving implementation and adoption by the business.
