Director, Access & Reimbursement - ILD - WESTThe Director, Access & Reimbursement will lead a team of Access & Reimbursement professionals to optimize access and reimbursement to BI Specialty portfolio, while providing strategic vision and strategy development to the Access & Reimbursement Team for the Specialty Portfolio.DescriptionAs part of the Market Access team, this individual will report directly to Executive Director, Access & Reimbursement. The incumbent will maintain strong and lasting relationships with Health Care Provider Offices, Specialty Pharmacies, Commercial Business Units, and US Reimbursement and Payment Organizations/Agencies.Boehringer Ingelheim offers a competitive compensation and benefit program, reflecting our high regard for our employees. We support our employees in a number of ways to foster a healthy working environment, meaningful work, mobility, networking, and work-life balance.RequirementsBachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required; Master's Degree from an accredited institution preferredExpert in Specialty Access & Reimbursement including HUB Services, Specialty Sales, Specialty Pharmacy, and Payer SalesMinimum twelve (12) years experience in the health care industry; inclusive of seven plus (7+) years in SpecialtyStrong understanding and prior experience with the development and implementation of Co-Pay, Access/HUB vendor selection, and managementPrior experience with execution of Service Agreements and Data ManagementManaging Field Sales, Account Managers, or Access/Reimbursement SpecialistStrong understanding of Specialty Access and Reimbursement, Commercial, Government Payment Systems, Provider/Carrier Networks, Co-Pay Assistance Programs, and knowledge of the specialty policy dynamics that exist in the Cancer and other Specialty CommunitiesDemonstrated ability to work effectively with and lead cross-functional teams to gain alignment and improve business performanceStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExceptional relationship-building skillsCommercial, Government & Oncology/specialty Payment Systems for Oral and IV agentsDeliver meaningful & concise presentationsIntrinsically motivated and self-directedOutstanding collaboration and networking abilitiesAbility to work in a Team environmentPublic Health and Policy SystemsPhysicians & Professional OrganizationsAdherence to Regulatory and Compliance StandardsAbility to travelBroad understanding as demonstrated by prior practical experience within a minimum of four of the following five functional areas:Responsibilities for HUB operations & performanceClear demonstration of a bias for customerPayer and/or PBM experience in the specialty therapeutic areasMedicare Carrier andAppropriate specialty therapeutic clinical experienceDuties & ResponsibilitiesThis person must exhibit strong leadership and relationship skills and be able to foster and communicate the Business Unit's strategic vision to both their team and numerous cross-functional BI workstreamsContinue to build the cross-functional model that Access & Reimbursement fosters - collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders to successfully achieve BI's objectives to serve patients and find new solutions to unmet medical challengesThe team will optimize access and reimbursement to BI's current and future Specialty products by monitoring trends of External Agencies through case management by the RAADs, supporting internal stakeholders, including Payer, HEOR, and Brand support, a favorable coverage and policy environment for our productsSupervise the RAAD Specialty Pharmacy Leads in their compliant and effective communication with the SP Liaisons to optimize patient experience in obtaining BI Specialty portfolio while monitoring trends in specialty accessProvide interpretive guidance and strategic insight to various internal BI stakeholders as to the impact of potential access & reimbursement issuesDemonstrate, through thoughtful partnerships, a compelling vision to outside organizations that provides a competitive advantage for our Specialty franchisesAssist in the development of brand strategies and business plans to ensure a consistent brand objectiveAbility to recruit and manage a high-performing teamMonitor access and reimbursement trends, both current and future, of the specialty landscape to create future access and reimbursement field-based strategiesCompensation DataThis position offers a base salary typically between $170,000 and $269,000.
