RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer I to support Site Operations in substation restoration activities following relay operations.The Senior Engineer I will analyze relay events and phasor measurement unit data to identify event causes and assess site readiness for safe restoration. This includes comprehensive knowledge of IEEE standards as they pertain to power systems, conducting relevant studies, and reviewing studies performed by third-party engineers.Role Responsibilities:Conduct, review, and approve power system studies, including Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Reactive Power Studies.Lead and execute on Request for Information (RFIs) from the ISOs, NERC, or other external entities.Review and approve HV and MV equipment specifications and update all pertinent information required due to equipment swaps.Train and mentor engineers to develop their knowledge in power systems and electrical engineering operations.Conduct Power Plant Controller Testing and ensure technical compliance with NERC standards.Provide recommendations on RWECE Substation Maintenance Program utilizing industry best practices and standards.Participate in substation restoration efforts during nights and weekends.Job Requirements and Experiences:Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.Minimum of 6 years of professional experience with operating and analyzing high-voltage power systems equipment.Minimum of 6 years of professional experience applicable to electric power generation, generation management, and automatic generation control.Detailed knowledge of power generation and distribution equipment, transformers, switchgear, transmission feeders, substations, and renewable energy.Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and other industry/regulatory codes and standards.Experience with protective relays and protection coordination studies.Familiarity with conducting and analyzing power system studies such as Power Flow, Reactive Power, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash studies.Familiarity with the North American Electrical Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.Familiarity with industry modeling software such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, TSAT, and ETAP.Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships.Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.Strong leadership, communication, and ability to meet deadlines.Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $120,000 - $155,000.Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
