INTERNSHIP POSITION SUMMARY The Cincinnati Art Museum has an opening for a part-time Collection Management Copyright Intern for the spring of 2026. This position provides the candidate an opportunity to gain collections/data management experience. The intern will assist with reviewing/organizing hardcopy copyright documents, audit against copyright information in the collection management database, research/correct discrepancies and assist with the development of data entry formatting. The Collection Management Copyright Intern will also receive an overview of related general collection management practices, records management, exhibition and loan processes, condition reporting, art handling and crating/packing. This is a 12-week paid internship beginning in January or February 2026 and is scheduled for 20-24 hours per week. ESSENTIAL INTERNSHIP FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to and working alongside the Head Registrar and permanent collection registrar, internship duties include, but are not limited to the following: Review, organize hardcopy Artist Copyright documents for status, validity, and completeness Audit, update copyright information to ensure the database records are accurate Assist with the development of proper copyright database standards; accordingly update copyright intake form Create an FAQ copyright reference document for museum staff Research policies and assist with the drafting of an institutional policy Other duties as assigned INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS Undergraduate or graduate student with a focus in humanities, museum studies, public administration, or a related field Research and organizational skills Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and prioritize tasks toward meeting project deadlines Proficiency with MS Office Suite Teamwork oriented, ability to collaborate across departments Commitment to confidentiality and ethical behavior TMS Collections or other collection management system experience preferred but not required Technical writing, cataloging, copyright, and/or database management experience is a plus Compensation details: 12-15 Hourly Wage PI af957a-
