OverviewThe Senior Analyst will support the Fires Division (FDG) within the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, providing expert analysis and strategic planning for Army Fires programs. This includes modernization efforts, capability integration, and resource prioritization across artillery, air defense, and missile systems.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and assess Army Fires programs including Long-Range Precision Fires (LRPF), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), and Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD).Support the development of Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submissions and budget exhibits for Fires systems.Coordinate with stakeholders across HQDA, ASA(ALT), AFC, TRADOC, and Combatant Commands.Prepare and deliver briefings to senior Army leadership including AROC and JROC forums.Track and evaluate Fires capability gaps, modernization priorities, and strategic alignment with Army Futures Command initiatives.Contribute to the development of strategic documents, decision support tools, and resource allocation plans.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., National Security, Engineering, Defense Studies). Master’s preferred.Minimum 10 years of experience in Army operations, Fires programs, or defense resource management.Prior experience as a Field Artillery or Air Defense officer, or in a related acquisition or strategic planning role.Deep understanding of Army PPBE processes and Fires modernization strategies.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting AROC/JROC processes.Familiarity with Army budget systems (e.g., GFEBS, RM Online, cPROBE).Prior service at HQDA, AFC, or a Fires-related program office.Salary$120,000 - $140,000Benefits401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays, Medical and Dental Plans, Life and Disability insurance, Education Assistance (and more).Other notesJANUS Research Group strives to provide opportunities for career growth through training and development.
